We move into the Spanish movie industry with this one; La Desconocida (The Marked Woman) is an expository of the feminine struggle under the entrapments of sexual bondages. As Clara tries to regain her memories we are introduced to the espionage of women in the phallus's secret service much like ninja warriors fighting unseen sword battles.

- The Pet Cure
In the opening scenes, Clara is discovered tied up and tortured in a shipping container by a dog. Compare the expert scent abilities of the dog to the later scenes where Anna (Candela Pena) and her team shout and knock on several containers hoping to find the missing people.
Pets are an important companion to man. Not only are they good companions but they are also highly gifted in the senses and much in touch with nature. A pet can ward off evil presence in your home and warn you of coming dangers or dangerous situations ahead of time, if you are conscious enough to observe and listen to them. Pets are a cure to our failing humanity.
- Legal Bottlenecks
Anna has an argument with her senior officer about the team and jurisdiction required to protect and investigate Clara's case.
This scene brings to mind the systemic bottlenecks that hinder the process of law enforcements and checkmates. Just like the systemic loopholes we mentioned in the review of 'American Sweatshop'.
In reality, there are so many obstructions that frustrate people seeking justice. There are cases of trafficked women and children whose cargo have left the jurisdiction of the police and there are also cases of missing fraudulent money which has been transferred offshore. Its important for law enforcement to co-operate and work in harmony worldwide, especially in cases that are life threatening.
- Know Your Cards
Anna is matched with Enrique (Pol Lopez), but he has his own agenda and knows far more than is available in the case file. He turns out to also be working with Falco (Manolo Solo), who is the kingpin behind the entire charade. Anna could have lost her life if she let her guard down.
Its important to know your cards and the potential intentions of your partners. Like doctor, strange play sequences in your mind and be conscious of how the pendulum can swing so that you have a mental brace to withstand any potential fall. Trust can cost you dearly especially in situations related to crime or fraud. It can even be fatal to be too trusting in relationships. Just like we reviewed in the movie 'Damsel'.
- The Powerful Brain
Clara's memories are lost to a brutal experience.
This symbolizes the powerful abilities of the human brain, just like we mentioned in the movie Exterritorial.
The brain has a wild range of abilities that science still can't fathom. There are abilities that transmit instances from past lives, there are abilities that create destitute insanity by creating an entirely different image or vision from the present reality. There are abilities that shut out knowledge completely like memory loss, and there are telepathic abilities that transmit messages or create forewarnings ahead of time. Haven't you ever witnessed a mother catch her baby right before a mishap?
- Man's Inhumanity
Clara's torture and captivity, Lucia's fright and death, and the trafficked women in shipping containers, are all expressions of the inhumane treatment that man melts out to man. Man's inhumanity to man has been reviewed in Furiosa and Trigger Warning.
Why do we hate ourselves so much? Why do we crave vanity so much that we are willing to let others suffer brutality just so we can get it? Why do we stifle our creativity in favor of financial gain from activities that dehumanize other people? Why do we look down on the weak?
Our world is like a mirror, and it operates on the laws of Karma. Karma might be slow, but it is an unstoppable engine. Just like Taylor Swift said in the song Karma; 'Karma's gonna track you down'.
The only problem is that we are myopic and blinded by religion to think we only need to garner as much as we can gain in one life time. In the movie review of 'Rebel Ridge', we mentioned the problem of women who used to be buried alive with their dead spouse, as an example of how man has abused the woman. You might ask if Karma can do something about that? Because all the participants are long dead. Yes, you are right, they are dead and gone, but they are still reincarnated among us. To Karma, Nature, the Source, or God, time is relative and they see us as a unit, not in individual life forms. We are a colony of movement whose actions affect the cosmic flow. Therefore, our past mistakes are our present burdens.
In this regard, everyone is inherently affected by the ills we accept in society. So don't think you're free of repercussions because you mind your own business. Nope, you're not! If the destruction of our world is initiated, you'd suffer like every other person. You can offer an official apology to the women of your race or any other race with such evil traditions and you would be promoting a good feeling that can alter our future. You can make moves to uplift women and restore their rights and you would be doing our world a load of good.
