Hidden meanings in Film noir: AMERICAN SWEATSHOP (2025) - Sickening! What is wrong with us?...

Published on 13 December 2025 at 08:04

Thank you for joining us once again on this thought provoking journey. This week's movie gives us insights on society and how reported online videos are investigated and managed. There are lots of life lessons in this one and we hope you enjoy reading through our review. Lets dive right in!

  • Feeling Inadequate
Bob (Joel Fry) gets into fits of rage due to the frustrating and painful images of gore he sees posted online at the restrictions company. He feels inadequate, like his efforts are not enough to protect the people being harmed. This is a common frustration among well meaning people, civil rights activists, law enforcers and others who fight for the rights of common victims. This is one of the risks associated with such endeavors. Such situations and circumstances present the risk of becoming clouded by emotions and sometimes presents opportunities to fall into the dark side by taking laws into your own hands.
In such instances two key factors are key to staying calm and progressing regardless of your emotional feelings. The first is Mindfulness, which implies being conscious of what you are up against. Its not just one individual, its an entire ecosystem that thrives on violence, pain, and frustration. A system that hopes you'd fail by taking the law into your hands, becoming aggressive or seeking illegal means to combat them. All these illegal means only add power to the wrongs. The second factor is awareness, which implies developing or multiplying your knowledge through outreach education and diplomacy. Developing awareness of such ills, including antecedents and precedent, would help multiply your efforts and give you a better feeling of satisfaction.
  • Sickening
The reported images are sickening. From suicides, to rapes, to snuff movies and absurd things like 'foetus in a blender'. What is wrong with us? What is wrong with humanity? Well, from our perspective on the entrapment and enslavement of angelics and the failure of the demonics to overcome their specialness of origin bonds or feud with the angelic, there are various views that come to mind. One view is the expression and promotion of wickedness for no reason or to sustain the system of enslavement by spreading fear to keep sleeping angelics in check. Another view is the need to keep angelics frustrated and agitated as a way of sustaining a violent approach which doesn't provide a long-term cure. Yet another view is the failure of the demonics to progress or flow or evolve into the civilized scientific modes as originally divinely planned. This is a serious question mark on systems, cultures, and societies where education is hindered and/or prohibited, because it only indicates a willingness to sustain enslaving demonic systems.

  • Acceptance and Approval
Daisy (Lili Reinhart) faints at the sight of a gory video and she's later consoled by Ava (Daniela Melchior) to not feel ashamed about fainting. Humans are social animals and we have an innate feeling or need to be accepted and approved by society. This blindness of following the bandwagon affects our ability to think rationally or objectively. Why should anyone feel ashamed of feeling bad about such sickening stimuli. This attitude of manning up or stepping up as a show of confidence has led to many crimes and atrocities, including rape, robbery, and murder. There's nothing wrong with being a softie. It only means you're the best person in the world and I would gladly leave my kids in your care. We should develop an attitude of appreciating strong humane feelings because love is what our world lacks.

  • Systemic Loopholes
First, Daisy's boss refuses to report the gory video to the police, next the police complain about jurisdiction and makes no attempt to investigate the video. These sequences in the movie are just an indication of how far we have gone in the acceptance of wrongness. We place the sustenance of bonds and wrongness over being humane under the guise of protocol or systemic blocks. This is one of the major adverse effects of the spoilt balance of things. As the demonic who do most of all the evils and wrongs, also control everything. How can a police officer make no attempt to investigate a public video with such gore? There should be a system for tracing and transferring cases outside the jurisdiction of law enforcement. Such cases should also be followed up to ensure that appropriate efforts are being made by the law enforcement agencies in such jurisdiction to checkmate such ills. Moreover, with her little resources, Daisy was able to trace the origins of the video. We should also be responsible to our deceived or entrapped children, because signing a contract of consent to being brutalized doesn't mean it should be socially accepted. In fact there should be no grounds for the development and acceptance of such dehumanizing contracts.
  • Double Standards
Firstly Daisy uploads the gory video to an online community as she tries to investigate its source. Secondly, in a vent of rage she pretends to indulge in BDSM and whips the bar guy with a belt. She only ends up promoting the video, getting herself in harms way and showcasing that she's not too different from those who she's fighting against. This is a lesson in mindfulness. Be mindful that you don't become what you preach against! We have emphasized this in various reviews on this website including Mona Lisa Smile, Honey Don't, Subservience, and Mother

  • A Subtle Inference
Daisy has blood stains on her hand the morning after whipping the bar guy. It seems like a subtle inference that she is the one hurt by the action. Subtle inferences with direct opposite meanings seem to be a thing in some movies, where the actress portrays a BDSM boss but in reality she's the one being brutally punished. It could also be a reference that it is women who suffer most from the wrongs in society. Its time for our world to embrace true civilization.

  • Don't Play a Hero
Daisy's daring attempt at locating the producers of the gory video and actually signing up with the producers before making a daring escape is just plain stupid. This feeling of being a hero has put so many people in harms way and in situations they end up regretting. We see videos of women and young girls signing up for religious or cult movements, some even migrating to other countries in the hope of making a difference. These attempts more often than not lead to more pain. We should understand the importance of education and diplomacy. It is more effective to provide income to young adults than to fight crime. In similar vain, it is more effective to provide understanding of the importance of peaceful co-habitation and harmony than to fight against the demonics in inconsequential heroic attempts. It is important that the education and perspective buttressed in our reviews and eBooks are wide spread to develop general understanding.
  • Orchestrated Blame
Daisy goes viral with the video of whipping the bar guy. This orchestrated blame is one of the many tactics the demonics use to sustain their wrongs. In addition to the bond of worsening they also have a system that blames those who complain about what they do. They make it look like you are the one who likes doing the things you complain about. This is why heroic attempts are flawed, because the demonic can twist it and push you to make a mistake which will be promoted to frame you. That's why we plead with the women to understand that we are not perfect, holy, or heroes. What we wish for is a general understanding, knowledge, and elevation in the mentality of humanity. A balance between the forces of the angelic (organic) and the demonic (scientific). See movie review of the Confessions of a Child of the Century for more understanding of the bonds of worsening to reject or discourage complains.
