Its another fun one with this comic flick from the Kevin Hart catalog. Comedy movies that hit their mark are always a fun watch and this one certainly lives up to expectations. From limousine cruises to riding whale dicks, you're sure to enjoy the ride. In our usual fashion, we identified some subtle messages that resonates with our blog's purpose.
Thank you for joining in and enjoy reading the life lessons we have garnered for your inquisitive minds.
- The Embarrassment
After a drunken mishap, the guys turn up at a laundry place in just briefs trying to get their outfits clean. Some guy walks up to Joe (Kevin Hart), mistaking him for a pimp and asked if the dudes where for sale.
Coincidentally, the location is a red light district swarming with skimpily clad young women, braving the cold like their skins were made of hide covered in fur. Yes, we know the problem that makes them withstand the cold. But are we solving a problem with more problems?
Jokes apart, and kudos to the women of the night for keeping me peaceful and alive during my sojourn in the 'imaginarium' or 'cuckoo's nest'. But isn't it rather sad and embarrassing to see us being sold by us?
Let's not delve into discriminating differences between the angelic and demonics or the enslavements orchestrated by the 1st, because we have hammered on that enough in previous reviews including Paprika, Clip, The Student, and Poor Things.
- Drugs Can Ruin You
Joe gets in a lot of trouble after sniffing on way too much cocaine. Suddenly, he was Tony Montana (Scarface) and Bruce Lee, and Miami was his personal villa (lol).
Comic or not, the message is clear. You can lose yourself in drug and have your entire life tumble downhill. So be careful about that party spirit because it's not the drugs that makes you a happy person, its your mentality.
- Surely Not Social Media
At a nightclub, Hunter (Ben Marshall) feels shy and mentions that he would rather leave comments on Instagram handles and hope the girls notice him.
Lol, sounds like me, but not the same purpose. Anyways, for those looking for dates on social media, sorry, girls hardly notice the fan club. But it's okay if you express yourself better in texts and chats. It gives you time to think as long as she's already attracted to you. But it's definitely a NO, NO, trying to win her attention. Don't be shy or embarrassed if you like to leave compliments in comments and serenade the sweethearts in texts, because it can also be beneficial. Personally, I muse beautiful images for lyrics writing.
- Spiked Drinks Again
Be careful on that fantastic night out that looks like a cure to all your sexual fantasies because this movie reminds us once again of the problem of spiked drinks. It reminds us that a night of fun can turn out to be a plot against your progress. So much harm has been done through poisoned or spiked drinks, don't fall victim to such deceit. Just like we reviewed in the movies, Kate and Carry On.
- Illegal Poaching Again
Whale penises! WTF, FFS... What is wrong with the world? Almost everything apparently!!!
Just like we reviewed in the movie titled 'In The Heart Of The Sea', man has a disrespectful tendency towards nature. We negate our responsibility as a higher more intelligent species in favor of myopic gains. We sometimes cause colossal damage just trying to enrich ourselves. And much of this mentality stems from the enslaving attitudes we have inculcated through history. As the powerful sometimes come up with weird ideas to keep people enslaved both mentally and physically.
Some rather dark subliminal messages but it doesn't ruin the comic value of this movie. This is certainly one of Kevin Hart's best yet!
