Our first foray into the world of Harlan Coben is a thrilling thriller with twists and turns. This adaptation is binge worthy with a few 'I didn't see that coming' moments.

- System Flaws
David's (Sam Worthington) son Mathew is presumed murdered by DNA identification but it turned out to be a flaw in the system.
From our perspective, and with our understanding of the 13 foundational DNA of human seeding (See our free eBooks), doesn't it seem plausible that DNA matching is flawed? Not just the corruption behind altering the results, but the actual flaw of being inaccurate because the entire human race is a by-product of 13 original DNA strands. We are all doppelgangers and alternate versions of another person both present and past.
I bet doppelgangers like Nicki Minaj and Lil Kim probably have similarities in their DNA. Same with people like Maradona and Lionel Messi, or Sam Worthington and Taron Egerton. Even among celebs, there are countless evidences of doppelgangers with similar traits and characteristics. Who knows, maybe finger printing is also flawed.
- Murdered by Law
Just like in David's case, there are many cases were later evidences proved a person's innocence. Through history, a lot of people could have suffered the death penalty unjustly, and this is one of the reasons behind the abolition of death penalties in certain states.
If death sentences weren't abolished many innocents would have been murdered by law. The challenge then, is to curb the heart of man and prevent him from committing capital offenses and exploiting a system that doesn't use death sentences.
- Good Character Sells
David's history of good behavior in and out of the penitentiary turns up when he needs it most. Rachel (Britt Lower), Adam (Jonathan Tucker), and Phillip (Peter Outerbridge) put themselves and their careers on the line to help him out of his dilemma.
In reality, good character sells much like goodwill can sometimes sustain a business in troubled waters. It might seem like you're losing out on fun or being cheated out of the good things of life when you act civil and control your impulses. But there might come a time down the line, when you would need someone to vouch for you and say 'no, he could never do that'. Besides in the grand scheme of things, it is totally irrelevant to feel cheated or left out because man only enjoys three things; Food, Sex, and Comfort. Everything else we do is to ensure the provision of these three and anything else we aspire for is to feed our ego. Ego is known to trouble the soul, therefore, it more often than not, pushes you out of the zone of comfort.
- Never Anything
David replies 'Anything, I will do anything'. When he's asked; 'what he's willing to do to get his son back' by Nicki (Clancy Brown). Well, this obviously leads to an entrapping dilemma.
In reality, never swear anything in return for a favor because anything could mean everything, including what you hope to benefit. The response of anything is a sure route to entrapments, and one that is often used by the sinister and occultic or fraternal minds to prey on the desperate. Just like we discussed in our review of the book 'The Damned'. Furthermore, if you consider the problem of indirect acceptance as we reviewed in Kiera Knightley's 'The Woman in Cabin 10', you'd understand that sometimes bonds or pacts are sealed without your express opinion and such pacts could be used to exploit you without your consent. Never anything, never ever, because it's usually not worth it.
- Trust and Partnerships
Let's not spoil your thrill by revealing the guilty party but the lesson at the end is simple; 'Trust can be misplaced and gravely misleading'.
In reality, seeking advice from the wrong person can push you in the wrong direction while exposing all your cards. This point against seeking advice from the wrong people was mentioned in our review of the movie 'A Scanner Darkly' starring Keanu Reeves and Robert Downey Jr.
Be careful of people who proffer themselves as a solution when they might be the actual problem. In this vein, the importance of balance in our society becomes very obvious, because if people have ample options to solve their problems and express their abilities, they would be less likely to fall for exploitive schemes.
A smooth flow in this series sequences are sure to keep you occupied in your down time and it is a relaxing feeling not a jittery tensed sequence. Its definitely a good watch.
