Thank you for joining us once again on this journey of self-reflection and social reprogramming, as we delve into lessons and insights from the sequel to the world famous and awarding winning movie; Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. This sequel is titled Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny. Enjoy reading.

  • A Time for Everything
'A Scholar's name would last five years after he is gone, but a master swordsman would last twenty years', Yu Shu Lien (Michelle Yeoh) narrates that she believes this quote to be a curse rather than right.
She is right because the well known quote that 'the pen is mightier than the sword' is a famous proverb that considers written communication and ideas more long-term and influential than physical force or violence.
However, considering the time frame of the movie, the world was still being forged by violence and the might of the sword was the word of reason. Perhaps, now the keyboard or voice prompt is mightier than the pen. Time changes things and we must remain conscious of the importance of things both in the short and long term. Such consciousness would help us develop or discard norms or character traits as seems fit for the time frame.
  • Power
When Yu Shu Lien (Michelle Yeoh) is asked by Snow Vase (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) if the green jade sword is powerful, she replies 'In the right hands'.
This implies that power is not just power of itself but rather a dependant variable. Therefore, power can be good or bad and it can also be weak or strong depending on what or who wields it. Therefore, do not mistake bullies, dictatorship, or exploitive tendencies for power, because in the grand scheme of things those kind of powerful expressions are a weakness to the human race journey.

  • The Wrong Dedication
Snow Vase swears a life of service in return for being trained by Yu Shu Lien, because she has a revenge mission in mind.
A revenge mission or a dedication to vengeance is one of the many things that keep many people enslaved to a life of suffering. In fact, the feelings and need for vengeance is purposefully orchestrated by bonded tormentors to keep you unstable and focused on them rather than your own well-being.
In this situation, we also see the importance of developing an emotionless mindset that can help you make the most profitable or beneficial decision. Just like we reviewed in the movie Novocaine, and we also touched on the importance of letting go in our review of the movie titled Errementari.

  • Ultimate Power Legend
The Green Destiny is a sword famed to be a source of unimaginable power that can no longer be forged. This legend about the sword creates a sought of craving for it and pits warrior after warrior against one another as each tries to be the soul owner of its power.
Legends of ultimate power sources are just like the proverbial golden fleece, ever fleeting but never achieved. These legends are just a sought of mental enslavement programming that keeps the world ruled and ruined by violence. Behind these legends, there is usually an entity promoting gossips and motives to orchestrate reasons why one fraction should attack another to prevent them from achieving the ultimate power.
As we have earlier stated, power is a dependant variable. Do not be mislead by a quest for ultimate power that only serves to keep you under control. Moreover, the quest for ultimate power is only a sequence to self-destruction, just like we mentioned in previous reviews including; League of Thrones, The Survivalist, The Damned, No Escape, and The Electric State.
  • True Love
The movie symbolizes the bonds of cross matched true love between the feminine and masculine gender of opposing forces. It uses the budding love between Snow Vase and Wei Fang (Harry Shum Jr.) who are both from opposing fractions in the movie. It is a reminder of mother nature's tragic attempts at reminding humanity of the importance of love, because the death of Snow Vase is symbolized in the movie.
In reality, the crossmatching bonds of true love is bonded in the spirit realm and its evidence is in several stories of love in impossible circumstances. However, such stories usually end in tragedy because humanity never reached the level of understanding that love is the only key that can guide us to true development, civilization, and prosperity. The achievement of a heaven on earth before the acceptance of, and corresponding sequences of ascending the heavens and ruling the cosmos.

  • An Evil Cycle
In an attempt to steal the green destiny, Yu Shu Lien is told by the Blind Enchantress (Eugenia Yuan) that the sword was the weapon that killed her parents. On the other hand, Snow Vase is trying to steal the weapon so that she can defeat the leader of the West Lotus who killed her teacher.
Vengeance is a never ending cycle, because the process by which it is achieved also creates enemies who would equally like to avenge their loss. It is a tool that is easily used to manipulate men. It is a tool used to mentally enslave and program ignorant or innocent young adults into irrational loyalty. Even suicide mission advocates are on a quest for vengeance. We should be mindful of being mislead especially by people who profit from our foolery.
  • The Heavy Price
Snow Vase's trust is betrayed when Wei Fang runs off with the sword after being illegally released by her. Her attempt at redemption almost cost's the life of Silent Wolf (Donnie Yen) and ultimately creates another opportunity for a new story of vengeance as lover boy's teacher is killed by Silent Wolf during his escape.
Trust is a heavy price that often comes at great cost and consequences. We have reviewed trust and its problems in the movie review of Novocaine, Damsel, and many more on our blog. Just type trust or trusting on the search feature on the drop down menu at the top of our homepage.

Did you also notice that the Chinese rarely wear heavy clothing like jackets during winter? It is a testament to the strength of the human mind and body. If we set our hearts and minds towards reclaiming the unity and prosperity of our world, we will definitely succeed. Yes, we can build a heaven on this violent and perturbed earth. Thank you once again and enjoy the rest of your week.
