Thank you for joining us once again as you delve into a healthy dose of life lessons and morals from this comic rather absurd movie titled MORTDECAI featuring Johnny Depp in his usual hilariously dangerous attitude.
- A Sense of Lack
Mortdecai (Johnny Depp) introduces himself as an accomplished art dealer with a feeling that something's missing. Just like Mortdecai, lots of people have a feeling of dissatisfaction, a feeling that there's just that something that they still haven't acquired. These feelings of dissatisfaction are consequences from the spoilt balance of things. Feelings that we aren't getting the right things that fill our void, a longing for true love, fulfillment, and satisfaction. It is a feeling that arises due to our focus on the wrong and vain things. For example multi-millionaires struggling to become billionaires while billionaires struggle to become trillionaires even though the multi-millionaires can live comfortably for the rest of their lives on the millions. There's a sense of fulfillment in being responsible, in finding and spreading love, in being your brother's keeper and respecting other people's rights. A feeling that you are too high to be a common cheat.
- Greed
The negotiation between Mortdecai and a purchasing party ends in violent carnage as each party tries to outsmart the other. Just like the inner void, individuals in dirty deals always want a better deal that's better than the last better deal. Isn't it much better to offer reasonable value to society in peace and love? Creating a better world for your future reincarnating self should be your first priority. Don't fall for the Gollum curse (Lord of the Rings), where you always long for more even though you can't find true meaning in what you long for. Take a step back and reassess your self! Ask yourself what really gives you joy and satisfaction. Just like we mentioned in the movie reviews of Dirty Angels and Four Letters of Love.
- Sexual Deprivation
Martland (Ewan McGregor) fancied Johanna (Gwyneth Paltrow) in high school, but on the day when he brought her a love quote at a party. She was bouncing on Mortdecai's cock. Oh boy, what a heartbreaking moment! This scene just served to symbolize the sexual deprivation of angelic (organic) men by demonic (scientific) men under the bonded entrapment and enslavement of angelic women. This sexual deprivation which is prevalent in society in different forms and modes including society initiations, coming of age cultural rights, and religious systems is one of the major sources of disbalance in our world. The organic or angelic side have a role to play in the flow of the system of things and they also need the fruiting of the women (demonic or angelic) to ensure that they grow at par with the demonic or scientific side of life. We should question systems that were left by our ancestors because they surely weren't living a life better than our current development stages. Document them at best if we are in doubt, but question them at least to find out what such systems really achieve in society. How does your culture, religion, or secret society impact the balance of things. If you don't like something, don't support it!
