This is another beautiful movie from the lovely Keira Knightley as she takes on the role of a spy and assassin while effectively covering motherhood and loving wife duties.
Black Doves examines how a simple mistake can spiral out of control and lead to catastrophic consequences because of misdirected perceptions and lies.
For example, there are basic universal principles in the world which hold true for most situations, and one of such principles is 'The truth sets you free'.
In this movie, Trent's (Angus Cooper) failure to abide by this principle spirals into an uncontrollable situation that threatens to result in war.

- Developmental Balance
Wallace (Andrew Buchan) and Helen (Keira Knightley) see a Newspaper article that mentions the Chinese ambassador's death and his missing daughter. The first thought that comes to Wallace is that the girl is probably hiding to avoid returning to China.
The saying; There is no place like home, seems to have been eroded and outdated from humanity. It has become irrelevant as more and more people seek greener pastures, better opportunities, and a more fulfilling life elsewhere.
This mass immigration is mostly due to the irresponsibility of the government and other people in authority from immigrant countries. To this end, this author was once inspired to develop a strategy for ensuring developmental balance (The Winning Manifesto). This developmental balance among all states is the first step before the building of ocean eco-living habitats, which will be followed by successful space exploration missions. We should learn to build floating cities because the journey to other planets might not be a single trip.
The strategy for development entails providing sanitary toilets to every nook and cranny of the world and, in doing so, overcoming every barrier to the success of the venture. A sanitary toilet would need water, and water would need power (electricity). To distribute electricity, you would need a good road network. Good roads, electricity, and water, would improve farming and provide support to farmers especially livestock farmers needing refrigeration. An abundance of food would lead to processing for storage, which would encourage manufacturing and lead to industrialization. Not forgetting what we have learnt in the past, there will be adequate measures to control the abuse of natural resources and to protect the ecosystem including wildlife habitats. That's how its done people, even the great Roman empire started with sanitary toilets, excluding their ass wipes.
- Gay Themes
Men hitting on men in bars! Now that's a sight that troubles the mind. What happened to good old fashioned pussy? Afterall, it's all the same dramas of cheating, heartbreaks, and sneaky endeavours.
Despite the emotions, romanticizing, and joys portrayed, you still get a distant feeling that it's all kind of weird. Like if the whole world was gay, where would the next generation come from? Maybe we all once became gay, and the children where wiped out, because no one got pregnant. With a dying population the apes became the closest primate to handle tools and thus began the 'Planet of the Apes', lol.
- The Mark Loves
Helen stakes out her mark in her first gig as a spy and by a stroke of luck or mishap, the mark (Wallace) falls in love.
It is a scene that's just reminiscent of young ladies under the bonded entrapment of sexual service to the system. Committing all sorts of obscenities in their entrapments then staking out marks (fools) to drain with the pretense of potential love.
Dear young ladies, the marks love and you're likely to get pushed off to one of them, when the system is done tapping all your juice. So while you're acting all espionage with your ninja mask and hidden sword fighting skills, remember that you could just be making a fool out of your husband and your future family, which ultimately means you're only fooling yourself.
- Your Sanity
The PM says to Wallace; 'You'd come to find out that the world isn't run how you think it is, it doesn't work how you think it works, you'd come to find out that almost nothing that you believed in is what it appears to be'.
In reality, have you reached that milestone in your life, were you realize the truth about not just Santa and reindeers, but also the uselessness of love and religion, up to the point that you could be cheated out of your business ideas or lose your finances because you lack power?
It's a mental shock when the happy ever after fantasies of Disney romance become the images of love being forcefully ejected from women or even worse BDSM, till all that's left is a stressful life disguised as a rescue mission. Oh humanity, there's a lot of work to be done to fix our wrongness, our greed, and covetousness.
- Bad Judgements
Ever seen those viral videos of neighborhood skirmishes that turn fatal? Well, that's what Trent reminds us of, as his heroine inspired outburst results in the accidental murder of the Chinese ambassador.
Hard drugs are a drain on humanity. Not just a financial and moral drain but also an intellectual one. The tensions and anxieties of life sometimes put us on edge and hard drugs often serve as a boost to tip us over. The giltz, glamour, and razzmatazz are just marketing gimmicks to get you hooked and most likely leave you for dead.
