- The Imbalance
Nursing mothers, pregnant women, able men and kids all jostle for a chance at being smuggled in a potentially hazardous shipping container. Its the immigrant struggle at one of its most grim depictions.
In reality, immigrant problems are majorly due to the economic imbalance in our world. The irresponsibility and lack of accountability from leaders in positions of authority and the resulting mismanagement of resources causes economic problems. Problems so degrading and dehumanizing that immigrants are willing to risk their lives in hope of an uncertain future. Economic problems are one of the indirect problems arising from the bonds of wrongness which we described in our eBook titled 'To Right a Wrong'.
- The Indirect Jilt
Nico unwittingly abandons Mia, leaving her to struggle with the burden of the pregnancy for the rest of the journey.
This is a literary allusion to the single mother struggle. It symbolizes the struggles of an expectant mother jilted by a lover under the pretense of an unexpected problem, while pretending to still care about them.
There are many young women who have experienced the problems of being jilted and left alone with a pregnancy. Some of such situations are sadly premeditated and purposefully used to keep such women down. It might be strange to think about, but there are women whose life sequences are supposed to bring about change in the imbalance of things and such young women end up being a target to be subdued. How the system predicts their life or decides who they are, is a mystery still yet unraveled. Although its not a strange ability because even in the past the birth of people like Jesus was predictable.
- Don't Underrate Yourself
Mia gives birth to a new born in the midst of struggling to stay afloat in a sinking shipping container. All alone and naked in the cold, she squats and pushes it out, all by herself like a standard water birth procedure.
Although this is fiction, it still tells a lot about the limits of human endurance. For example, there are people who can barely run one kilometre but in the face of danger, they would run much more. This means that we can achieve great things if we are truly committed. So don't underrate yourself as you go through that struggle or strive towards your goals.
- The Connection
Right at the moment when Mia is overwhelmed by her situation and decides to eat her own placenta, a Whale hits the shipping container, as if to say, 'don't do that, God's got you'.
It sounds superfluous, because most of us have lost our spiritual connections due to a dependance on religious houses. We have lost our true history, hidden in stories, myths, and legends, to the books of religion written within our current time cycle. We are connected to nature in ways most of us can't fathom. Let's not forget that fact and lets make a conscious effort to be more responsible towards our planet.
- Physical Liability, Spiritual Protector
Mia struggles through pain to keep herself and the newborn alive. It sounds weird but in such situations, the spirit of the baby might actually be a protecting force around the mother, while the mother actually does the physical work. The baby's spirit could be working as the wind or an ocean's current guiding the container to a shore.
It is the underrated powerful baby or like Disney calls it 'the boss baby', and mind you, the baby's poop brings his mother fishes.
Sometimes, the real reason behind your success might be physically present like a liability.
Just like we mentioned in the review of 'The Platform' the goal of sustenance and a better world is found in protecting and saving the children. The children in-turn come with new directives, visions, and abilities from the divine source. Therefore, places that give children opportunities to express themselves, prosper much more than those who try to control and stiffen their creativity.
