Hidden meanings in Film noir: THE UNFORGIVABLE (2021) - The hard workers problem...

I had a hard time unseeing the resemblance between Sandra Bullock and the King of Pop, Michael Jackson in this one. Which only goes to show that Michael was really pretty, to be comparable to a beautiful woman. Thank you for joining us once again on this thought provoking journey of redemption. Please enjoy the life lessons we have provided for you.

  • Be Conscious of Consequences
Ruth (Sandra Bullock) let's her emotion get the better of her and accepts the blame for murder. She isn't a killer, and the murder wasn't premeditated but she lost control in the heat of the moment, panicked and made the wrong choice.
In reality, it is important to be conscious of consequences before taking a line of action. It is important to always have a certain level of awareness in your mind about law and jurisdiction that can call you to order when you are in emotionally charged situations.
  • Adoption or Possession
Ruth's sister, Katherine (Aisling Franciosi) is adopted after Ruth's arrest but is it right that siblings adopted under unfortunate circumstances never get to see or hear from each other again?
To put this in proper perspective, it's selfish for a convict to come back and ruin the better life opportunity of a sibling due to stigmatization, but its also quite possessive or insensitive to keep a child or a young adult from their biological relatives. It doesn't have to be made public but biological siblings should have a natural right or consent to see and know about each other. Won't it be weird if siblings end up marrying each other because they never knew they were separated as kids?

  • Control Your Emotions
Ruth's meeting with Kathy's new parents goes smoothly till she loses her calm and starts screaming insults at them. She almost ruins the opportunity of ever seeing her sister again and she confirms the fears of the couple. Her aggressiveness is threatening to them and provides a more cogent reason why they shouldn't approve of her visits.
Be careful, when you fight for something right, that you do not come across as a problem rather than a solution. For example, if out of sexual frustration and a lack of love, you end up being a domestic violence abuser turning your spouse into a punching bag, then you'd only give the system more justification for sustaining their wrongs of cheating.
  • Friendly Enemies
Steve (Will Pullen) walks in on his baby screaming alone and his wife having sex with his friend in another room. This is the hard workers problem!
People who work so hard that someone else helps them enjoy their rights and those who enjoy it live easier and achieve more financially. This problem mostly originates from the 'Bonds of Wrongness' and those who take advantage of it by actively supporting rather than trying to fix the wrongs. Just like we explained in our eBook 'To Right A Wrong'.
These kind of scenarios are the main reasons behind high divorce rates and a lack of interest in having kids or starting a family. No one wants to be the fool yet our entire world cannot continue without the presence of fools. If you ask me, the so called 'fools' deserve more respect both from the system and women. No Excuses!!!

  • Truth Sets You Free
In this movie, Ruth's truth would have prevented her incarceration and suffering because her sister was a minor who wouldn't get a sentence for an unfortunate accident.
Sometimes taking the blame in solidarity with a good cause does more harm than good. More especially in situations where the person you are helping could actually be exploiting your kindness. Much like we described in our eBook 'To Right A Wrong'.
In reality, don't let people exploit you by baiting you to accept the wrong choice in solidarity with a good cause. Once there's wrongness involved, you create a gateway to be exploited physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
For example, I recently went to a dealer to attempt purchasing a vehicle but the prices were too high. Some guy who displayed a high familiarity with the dealer's shop without any concrete or documented evidence of partnership, approached me and told me he could help me get a cheap vehicle. His scheme was to help me avoid paying dealer's tax because he was a private seller who could get cheap vehicles out of auction. Needless to say, it was a scam that I saw right through because I needed to pay half of the price to get the car out of the auctioneer's yard. Don't fall for the illegal lure or bait which ties you and makes you susceptible to be tricked.
  • Gun Culture
Isn't it a major problem, if a minor can gain access to a gun by opening their parent's lockers?
If our society is based on an ability to defend your assets by the possession of arms, then there should be other ways to signify it or acknowledge such irrelevant powerful symbolisms rather than creating the risk of unfortunate accidents. As a matter of fact, these attitude of powerful or violent symbolisms neglects and relegates the importance of intellect and education in society. It makes violence a more reasonable choice than being peaceful. We also discussed the hazards of gun culture in our review of the movie titled 'Trigger Warning'
Moreover, the risk of unfortunate accidents is exacerbated by the problem of 'commands' or 'programming' of the mind by those who have the special abilities to do so. Isn't it a risk if someone can mind control or program your kid to shoot your weapon? A society with a gun culture is most likely wrongly directed, indeed!
