Do you ever have emotions that you can't explain? Have you ever lost control of these emotions? Do these emotions have a name?
With these opening lines, Cara (Julianne Moore) argues that the accused is guilty of committing a crime and refutes the excuse that he was under the delusion of multiple personalities.

- Are Multiple Personalities Real?
The central theme of the movie is multiple personality syndrome and the hazard that it poses to individuals prone to violence.
Personally, I have meant many 'I AM's during the course of my mental breakdowns and psychological struggles with the truth about love and our social reality. In addition, I can emotionally and subconsciously identify with various characters in history, religion, and the arts.
- These alternate egos include; I AM 'THE VOICE OF GOD', 'ADAM', 'ARCHANGEL MICHEAL' 'ODIN' 'THOR' 'OGUN' 'PROMETHEUS', 'LUKE SKYWALKER', 'JESUS', 'IRON MONKEY', 'MOWGLI', 'RIDDICK', BUDDHA (in feminine KRISHNA) 'CHARLES XAVIER', 'DOCTOR STRANGE' and 'NEO'. I even sound differently sometimes when I talk. Sometimes, I have a childish innocent voice, sometimes a deep manly and confident voice, sometimes a deep aggressive and thunderous voice when I'm angry, and sometimes a normal voice.
So yes, multiple personalities are real and sometimes due to traumatic or spiritual experiences it is possible to become connected to other versions of yourself, either living, dead, or futuristic.
Consider that there are approximately 8.1 billion people in the world (2025) and everyone is a product of the 12 (sisters) combination (or permutation) 1 (male) DNA strand. This means there are approximate 8.1 billion divided by 13 which gives approximately 623 million versions of yourself in both male and female form. - Exploited Insanity or Disability
Are all these multiple personality traits an excuse for committing crime? Is mental illness an excuse to get away with heinous crimes. I don't think so. First of all, every musician can sing differently with a trained voice, and the mood or countenance of a person affects how much force he applies in his organs.
Mad people do not walk into the path of moving vehicles because they are conscious of the effect and potential fatality of such acts. Likewise, mad people are well aware of the consequences of harming or hurting someone else.
It is important to educate people about the possibility of connecting to past or 'future past selves' so that they can have a better hold of their emotions when they are triggered by uncontrollable circumstances. It is possible to be psychologically affected by your previous life forms but don't let it rule you or ruin you. Receive it, understand it, and fix it or ignore it. - Emotional Triggers
David (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) acknowledges to Cara that he had an accident in the past. Which resulted in being confined to a wheelchair, but under possession his alternate self has no issues walking and standing. Accidents, Heartbreaks, and other traumatic experiences like orchestrated discrimination or dangerous and life threatening sequences can trigger connections to alternate egos. These concepts have been previously explained in our movie reviews of Archenemy and Frankie & Alice.
- Demonic Bondings
One of the doctors has a terrible skin reaction that leads to nausea and vomiting, Cara's father also dies of the same causes, and her daughter Sammy is almost lost to the same ailment. The demonic bondings which live a supernatural mark on your skin would sound absurd to the unconscious mind. But have you ever felt like someone left something on your skin, like a zit, a boil, or a mole? How bout crabs in your genital area?
To the conscious and mindful, demonic bondings are a sought of evidence of alternate life forms struggling in a sort of quantum leap trying to escape their reality and merge with this new one. It is a sort of attempt to hold on to life in a new world, but might also imply demonics trying to sustain the wrongness that lead to the destruction of their original world. In my own perspective, such entities forget that they are also reincarnated in this current one, and they have only succeeded in spoiling their own reincarnation into this current one. We can't be authoritative in our opinion because such issues can't really be explained or treated and are best ignored. Don't let it ruin your mental health, and apply good hygiene to your self and your environment to ward of such inconveniences.
An alternative or rather absurd argument is that such bondings might actually be an attempt to rebuild a world which has been destroyed in a previous cycle, and such beings (demonic bonders) are actually tasked to rebuild the world. So be careful how you react to things you can't really explain and take a cue from the review of the movie No Escape and keep calm because it might be nothing.
- Victim of the Wrongs
The original David had a real accident and lost his legs before suffering hideous brutality that ended his life. It becomes apparent that he becomes a sought of haunted ghost presence that possesses the psychiatric patient. This aspect of the movie, takes us back to the earlier claim of understanding the possibility of multiple personalities and being able to overcome instances or psychological disturbances that could ruin your present life. This is one of the reasons why the death penalty is abolished in some places. Souls wrongly killed live a haunting aura, a symbol of a hack or inconsistencies in the human programming which creates a sort of glitch that torments a place, or personality. We should be mindful of the wrongs, and reject evil activities like snuff films and ritualistic killings like the ones reviewed in the movies Hope Lost and No Escape.
- Extremities
The multiple personality disorder in this movie represents an extreme case of possession as the transmission comes with vivid memories not abstract de ja vu feelings which are more common. In such extreme cases of mental disability it is quite unwise and rather irresponsible of society to not provide proper catering service for such individuals. This is because they can be considered as potentially hazardous to others. Proactively, prevention is the best recommendation as awareness, knowledge, and education arms and prepares any individual against unforeseen circumstances. If you're mentally prepared, then you're less likely to act irrationally or out of impulse. This website hopes to create a mental preparedness to individuals who might be caught up in similar circumstances or feelings.
- Taking Responsibility
David in Adam acknowledges to his original mother that she has a nail which they deified as a symbol to ward off evil. This attitude is common in many religions, cultures, and societies. The use of symbols and artefacts as protective armaments neglects the social responsibility of humans. We are what we create and we can create heaven or hell out of our world. Its a matter of taking responsibility. You can't outrun a spirit, so you mustn't be afraid of one. If the possessions are too disturbing respect their presence and move on with your life, don't fight it.
- Is God Real
Most religions profess the existence of God, and most people hold on to it. Some people mostly hold on to the existence of God as something to blame or to hope on. Cara's daughter Sammy confesses that she didn't believe in God because God wouldn't have let her father die. This blog is not religious and we respect the opinions of everyone, but here is what we really believe. There is a divine plan or blueprint for all humanity but we are the vessels through which that plan would be achieved. If we choose to act responsibly we would achieve a better world, a heaven on earth, but most of us are lead by greed, mischief, and perversion. We changed the original plan for our world to suit our own selfish ambitions and desires. We suffer not because we are not provided for, but we suffer because we misuse that which is already provided. In a world filled with love, death would be a little less unbearable to the bereaved.
- Bonded Stealing
David's possession powers are finally revealed as a sort of bonded stealing. He sucks out the essences of his victims and starts acting like them. In reality this is something most people might find strange, but have you ever felt substituted in life. Like you've been left out and someone else is doing what you're supposed to be doing. Have you ever felt cheated or used in a way that you didn't really benefit. Bonded stealing is something the sleeping angelics often suffer from. In some instances the original vessel becomes insanely deranged and a bit mindless. Bonded stealing is quite common in fraternities where human sacrifices or rituals are used to attain quick wealth. There are several videos online of young ladies dropped off by expensive cars in the middle of the street or market in Africa only to suddenly start tearing off their clothes and acting mindlessly. There are also several homicide cases that show evidence of satanic rituals. All these activities are examples of bonded stealing or substitution. Another example, which is quite difficult to explain or comprehend is the friendly enemy. That fake friend who's only in your life to observe and transfer your potentials. There are some friends who pretend to support you but only end up making you tired of what you were trying to achieve. The solution is simple, be mindful, be yourself, and lead yourself. Don't subscribe to the Alpha male madness, you have your own divine programming, so discover it and harness it.
