I had my first experience with Mortal Kombat on the Game Boy gaming console. The Game Boy was a real big deal back then in my early years, not sure if I was a teenager or pre-teen but I remember quite vividly hanging around with the other guys waiting for a turn to play because only one of the boys had the console.
I, my siblings, and close friends later gravitated to game houses which had the super Nintendo before we somehow got a personal Sega Mega drive and then the PlayStation series followed. Mortal Kombat has since evolved into improved cinematic graphics on gaming consoles including portable devices like mobile phones, and the Play Station Portable.
So yes, this was a feel good nostalgic movie to watch. It was quite funny remembering game console moves like Liu Kang's hold button A for five seconds, for a superb flying kick. Lol.
Now to the business at hand, despite the fantasy and action sequences there is always a take home lesson in every story. You can learn to do or to not do, but you learn, and we only grow by learning. Hopefully, you'd learn a thing or two from the life lessons we have listed. Thank you for joining us and enjoy reading.
- Time to Let Go
Johnny Cage (Karl Urban) was portrayed as a great fighter for screen acting but it seems like he was mistaken for a great warrior by Sonya Blade (Jessica McNamee) and Lord Raiden (Tadanobu Asano) who were recruiting fighters for the Mortal Kombat tournament. He ended up having to fight for his dear life.
In reality, our movies carry many symbolisms related to the real world. If you are conscious of the differences or the conflicting sides of the divine source code, as described in our eBooks, you'd see the indirect sustenance of differences and enmity between the two conflicting sides on the screens.
You'd see that angelics are still symbolized as enslaved lesser vessels incapable of amassing wealth and deprived of sexy women. Albeit, most angelics are still confused because they don't recognize or know who their true love is supposed to be.
We need to grow out of this unnecessary tussle and conform to the lengthy road of our physical cosmic journey. As we extend ourselves into the cosmos, our technology would grow and improve with us. We wouldn't want to extend wrongly and sustain the differences that indirectly promote and encourage war. Like we mentioned in our review of 'SuperGirl'. It is time to let go, so let's consider the importance of togetherness.
- Relax don't Reject
'First I'm gonna drink every beer on this planet, then I'm gonna hide'. Johnny Cage replies Sonya Blade as he rejects being a fighter in a death match tournament. Although it's a fantasy movie, his opinion is synonymous with many perceptions and mentality in the real world.
In reality, there are many who, after one misfortune or mishap, decide to drown themselves in a bottle. Drinking became quite a serious problem that necessitated the institution of laws to control. Laws to control drinking in Bars and Pubs was seconded by ethical advertising from drinking companies.
Drinking offers a short term relief or a way to reject responsibility. I do not recommend drinking at all, because I am many years sober, but the drinking industry is a multi-billion dollar industry and it provides a lot of income to many families.
Be mindful of spiritual exploitation when you decide to drink, and please drink responsibly. Let it be a means of relaxation not a way to avoid or reject problems. Also be mindful of the many associated hazards of indulging in alcohol including domestic violence and road accidents. We also mentioned the negative effects of alcohol dependency in our review of 'Fool Me Once'.
- Perspective Not Wisdom
'That's not wisdom, that's perspective'. Johnny Cage says to Baraka (CJ Bloomfield) and his kids in the closing sequences.
That statement strikes a nerve, doesn't it? Even from our views on this website, its perspective not wisdom because wisdom differs based on individual goals. It might be wisdom for a man who works from home and only gets to go out once a week to save money for a mortgage payment, while another man who works at the office four days a week and has a side hustle as an Uber driver, might consider it wise to spend all his savings on a car. Both of them are wise from different perspectives.
It doesn't matter what your perspective on wisdom is, what matters is that you find space in your heart to respect another man's.
Thank you for reading through this issue and we hope you enjoy the rest of your week. ciao
