We don't know if Chinese martial arts sequences are like some Indian Bollywood dance scenes which seem to symbolize women trying to be free from the enslaving defenders while the cheated lover patiently pleads for her love. Anyways, don't let the superb action sequences in this movie fool you, because there's a lot of life lessons hidden in its storyline.
Read on for the life lessons symbolized in this movie's scenes and storyline.

  • Together we stand, divided we fall
The opening scene is a symbolic allude to the impossibility of one woman challenging the system successfully. In the scene we see Sook-Hee fight through a maze of gangster in seemingly superhuman manner. Oh boy, she's one wild one as she dodges, jumps, and twists through gunshots and flying blades. She's successful but this is a sarcasm on reality because one person cannot challenge a system and succeed. We hope that our views express on this website usher in a life of unity, togetherness, and a common purpose of improving life for everyone. We hope that our writings bring awareness and direction for the future of humanity.

  • Gracefully or Disgracefully?
Sook-Hee escapes form her cell and stumbles on other inmates practicing ballerina gracefully. Gracefully only in the world of fantasy and arts but gracefully in reality? I think not! Its rather disgraceful to see the brutality and ill treatment given to women behind the scenes while being promoted as graceful to the patronizing ignorant. This deception from the system and maltreatment of women is evident in sex workers, trafficking schemes, and even among promoted artists and celebs. So while you're wanking to that sex video or smiling to the image of massive boobs in dog chains being dog walked in public humiliation sequences. Remember that she could have been punched, kicked, and slapped or flogged with bonds to accept such acts.

  • Broomsticks only stand when their together
During an attempt to escape, one of the ladies places her leg on the way and knocks Sook-Hee over and another lady betrays her with a deceitful escape route and shoots her down. In reality many women are so taken-in by their own enslavement that they actively prevent others from being free. Feminism needs more objective advocates who understand the proper balance female freedom can bring to our world.

  • Don't be a kettle calling the pot black
Sook-Hee ends up killing a target in much the same fashion as her own dad was killed right in front of the victims little daughter. The proverbial statement 'A kettle calling the pot black' is a reference to judgmental statements which the speaker is also guilty of, i.e. the kettle is black from the stains of the fireplace but it judges the pot for being a black dirty pot (lol). We write this blog with a bit of caution and weariness or reluctance because we also like sexy women and the expression of sexuality. So we hope that our intentions are not misconstrued for a preference for strict discipline, restrictions and boring ways of living which are actually another form of entrapment and enslavement. We hope that women in particular understand and look beyond our emotional flaws to see what we hope to correct or adjust in the social process which determine the progress of our world in general.

  • Child trafficking
Sook-Hee becomes a child sex slave after her father is murdered. Although, this seems like a far-fetched movie story, you'd be surprised at how common child trafficking for sex slavery is in our world. Oh humanity, how did we become such mental slaves to the pursuit of wealth. Wealth that is in itself enslaving. There are so many people who have hurt and killed others just to add another expensive car to their garage which they would never drive. Infact, their security guard sometimes has sex with the maids in the parked cars. Oh humanity, we should be conscious of our mis-directions.

  • Friends or foes
Sook-Hee's cover identity has a neighbor who appears harmless and innocent but is actually a spy keeping tabs on her activities and movements. In reality do you have friends who are enemies. Is that neighbor or friend really a friend in support of your goals or just a block holding back the wheels of your progress. A monitoring spirit (according to African pastors), someone who receives an income to ensure that you remain subdued in life. Are you aware of who you are spiritually and in the true scheme of things and exactly what your enemies would be willing to prevent you from achieving?

  • Violence only begets more pain
Sook-Hee's attempt at getting back at the world through violence ends up in tragic consequences for her new family. Despite the her heroics, the pain of losing her father is compounded by the pain of losing love and a child. Violence is a readily available option that only leads to short-lived satisfaction and false victory for the cycle of vengeance only grows bigger from each attempt. Choose your battles wisely in this world, somethings are better left alone and forgotten. Our focus should be on correcting the future not on avenging past wrongs, ills, and mistakes. Besides 'NOTHING' can destroy the bonds, it only gets worse when challenged.

Tell us what you think is symbolic about the way Sook-Hee can't kill the boss, even after knowing he's killed her husband and child in addition to killing her father. Do you think our women today are bonded to not harm those who treat them so wrongly in brutality and humiliation? Let love lead, guide and build us into a better human race.
